Notes on this particular system monitor.
Nov. 29th, 1989 08:19 am* He is perfectly capable of verbal communication, he just doesn't most of the time.
* There are other things to do besides chat, like his job.
* He really enjoys his job.
* ISOs are perfectly reasonable acceptable programs, except Gibson, who has quirks.
* Gibson in spite of the aforementioned quirks, is also a reasonably acceptable program.
* He is in possession of a long list of Totally True Tron Facts, collected from overheard programs. Amazing facts like: Tron can build a snowman out of rain! Also, Tron once bowled a perfect game using a marble.
* When he does bother with verbal communication, he sounds suspiciously like his creator, Kevin Flynn.
* This also means he sounds a lot like CLU.
* There is a reasonable chance this has something to do with why he doesn't bother to speak much.
* There are security tapes of this particular system monitor attempting and failing over a dozen times to reach a single mag point.
* He did succeed eventually.
On the unlikely chance anyone ever gets him to take his helmet off, the monitor does look a little like Flynn, but not identical by far; he's had enough modifications courtesy of Flynn while being designed to prevent that. Looks kind of like what you'd get if you crossed a Flynn program with an Alan1 program, doesn't it? Unfortunate about the voice thing...
